Radio Microphone Hire
The Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 states that each user of UHF Radio Microphone Equipment must be responsible for their own license in their particular venue or location.
We understand that 95% of our clients don’t have such a licence and probably don’t use such equipment often enough to warrant applying for a license. This means that unlicensed equipment is potentially liable to be confiscated and you could receive a fine.
Soundcheck holds a License to use the following UHF frequencies with hired-out radio microphones and in-ear monitor systems:
| 854.900 MHz |
855.275 MHz |
855.900MHz |
856.175 MHz |
856.575 MHz |
| 857.625 MHz |
857.950 MHz |
858.200MHz |
858.650 MHz |
860.400 MHz |
| 857.625 MHz |
861.200 MHz |
861.550MHz |

Upon hiring the equipment we will require details of where it is to be used and the period of use. When you collect the equipment, or it is delivered to you, you will be given the appropriate permit document and conditions of use which must be strictly adhered to.
There is an additional charge on UHF Radio Microphone Hires to cover the cost of the administration of the license which is £5.00 + VAT PER HIRE. A “Hire” being any number of Radio Microphones for any one continuous period of time.
Please do feel free to contact us if you require any further information. Our license is, of course, available for inspection at any time.
